How are Start-Ups born?

Surely you already want to be a Startup or that you would like to invest in a Startup, but before that there are some things to tell you.

There is a good and bad news. The good thing is that anyone can become a Startup. The bad news is anyone can become a Startup. What it means is, it’s a speed race.

Today a person with a computer can reach anywhere in the world and make virtually any digital innovation in that sense and create a gigantic business.

So, what kind of industry should you put in and how could you fight with them?

Let’s think a bit about the age of the dinosaurs, to make an analogy, you before if you were in the world of dinosaurs flee T-rex since it was very large and not flexible, after that a meteorite fell and became extinct almost all the dinosaurs especially the T-rex for the same, to be very big and not flexible, in contrast the mammals that had the capacity to hide on all sides and to be flexible, survived.

Today we are living the same thing, the only thing different is that it was meteorite that fell, it is called technology, because anyone can do what a giant company could not do before.

Let’s look at comparisons of companies that were very flexible and Startups that killed them, because today you can choose an industry and change it completely forever.

Do you remember renting a movie or having it back on a Sunday night when you were lazy, and maybe they charged you extra like Blockbuster? And suddenly came a team of 3 or 4 people, invented Netflix and changed the industry how to consume content forever.

Or maybe you remember Microsoft Encarta, how many times did you not do your homework there? Today who would be willing to buy information? There we have Google, who came and changed the industry, and when Google started was a company of 2 people, it was not the size it has today.

The point of this is that the industry is changing and the only constant is change. You can create a Startup, modify an industry forever and improve it. Or you can invest in one of those Startups that is completely changing it, that means killing the not flexible giant. All those big little flexible companies are on the brink of death for people like you, who can undertake through innovation, modify an industry to improve it and stay practically all your business.

If you realize all the businesses and all Startups are born with an idea on a napkin just like you have it or even your business is more advanced than that napkin, the point is that they are born, they join a couple of people who find a problem and start working on it if its innovation is good, works and grows.

Maybe you know Hyatt Corporation, all these hotels around the world, and it’s a 70-year-old hotel building valued at $ 8 billion dollars. On the other hand, you have Airbnb who has 8 years in the market and is the company with more hotel rooms in the world and does not own a single hotel room or a single building and is valued at 26 billion dollars. This example means that you can:

  1. Take that idea
  2. Find the problem
  3. Propose a solution
  4. And solve that problem
